You can make money with a personal blog

Yes, it is very possible to make money on a personal blog.  Many experts will claim that you must have a niche or topic that your blog must be centered around in order to be successful.  While it’s true that having a specific topic in mind when creating a blog can make it much easier to monetize your blog, there are several extremely successful bloggers who have proven that you can make a significant amount of money from a blog that is personal in nature:

  • John Chow – Makes over $500,000 per year off his blog
  • Shoemoney – No idea, but he does VERY well
  • Steve Pavlina – The last I heard, he was making over $40,000 per month

The blog you’re currently reading does make some income, which makes me a big believer that it is completely possible for you to make money from blogging.  While this blog is personal in most of the topics and nature, it does center somewhat around business and marketing.  One of the keys is to really define what you want to talk about and how to effectively monetize what you’re talking about.

If you’re interested in at all trying to create a blog that you can monetize, then I highly suggest you check out John Chow’s recent video on the topic and check out his post – How I make $40,000 a Month From a Blog:
