Lately I have seen a ton of banners and advertisements for MailChimp, it seems like they’re everywhere!  Curiosity got to me and I decided to check them out to see what they offer and how they stack up against their competition.  Email marketing software is a fiercely competitive industry, with a few really dominating the market.

MailChimp Features

The first place I wanted to check out was what their service offered that made them worthwhile using.  When I clicked on their features link, it was amazing how much stuff they offer with their services!  From segmentation to autoresponders they have just about anything you would want in an email marketing company, in addition to that, they have a few cool features that I have rarely seen from  email software companies:

• RSS to Email
• Google Analytics Integration
• Plus several other options

You Can Split Test Your Newsletters!

The thing that really stood out though was their Automated Campaign Optimizer – this thing sounds awesome and I’ve never seen it with any other email company.  I pulled this description from their site:

Not sure what day is best for sending? Which subject line will get a better open rate? MailChimp can run an A/B test on a tiny, random sample of your list, analyze your results, then automatically optimize your campaign and send it to the remainder of your list for you. Patent pending.

Seriously, that’s unbelievably cool!

The prices are also very cheap compared to the other email marketing services out there with a completely free account if you have under 500 subscribers – this isn’t a free trial, it’s a free account!  On the high end, you can actually have up to 50,000 subscribers for only $240 per month, which is one of the cheapest I’ve seen.

In addition to all of that, they also offer a Pay-As-You-Go plan that charges you only when you send a newsletter, never heard of a company offering something like this before either.

I’ve Converted to MailChimp

To be honest, MailChimp has me sold – between their features, tracking, and price they’re my new favorite when it comes to sending email or marketing with email.

A favorite choice among bloggers because of the robust autoresponder capabilities.  They have become known in internet marketing circles for being  a powerful solution as far as email marketing software is concerned.

Price: Starts at $19 per month

Features: While the price is a little more than Constant Contact, Aweber offers a feature-set and customization that is ideal for those wanting to customize their email marketing a little more its competitors.  Again, they are really known for their powerful autoresponders and have found a very large adoption with bloggers utilizing them heavily.

iContact

If there were a list of some of the fastest-growing email marketing services, iContact would surely be near the top.  With over 50,000 people currently using them to manage and deliver email, they are a very good choice for those wanting to dive into email marketing.

Price: $9.95 and a free trial you can test out.

Features: They have over 250 templates and include the ability to implement surveys on your site or newsletter at no additional cost.  They also have included at no extra cost autoresponders and blog/RSS feeds.

Which one is right for you?

Really you just need to choose one a give it a shot, as all three are excellent services and companies for running your email marketing campaigns and lists.
