There are many times that I have come across the need to use a news-style layout or design for a site. While there really aren’t specific things that define these types of templates or designs, they do have certain attributes and characteristics that put them in this category. News themes for WordPress typically have a clean layout with features that highlight different sections of content (video, articles, etc.) that make them ideal for newspapers or organizations that are trying to distribute information.

Somewhat different from magazine-style themes that tend to have more of a focus on design and pictures. News themes tend to be more stripped-down versions that put an emphasis on the content of the site over aesthetics (although you will see that many below are quite appealing).
